Postnatal Management in Western and Oriental Medicine


Abstract
After delivery, physical and psychological changes of a woman in childed are returned. At this time it is called puerperium. A care for a woman in childed is important to return of woman¢¥s health and nutrition condition.
From the result of consideration through the oriental and western literature about care for a woman in childed, the results are summarized as follows.
1. A care for a woman in childed is need to physical and psychological nurse after birth. At this time, it is arranged that health care are the perineum care, individual sanitation, breast care, exercise and rest, infant care, nutrition care, movement.
2. Important is stability for care after child birth. But it is important to rise from her bed early and exercise suitably for speeding up uterus contraction, discharging lochia.
3. It is important to prevent for infection by cleanness and sterilization, because the vagina, uterus of a woman in childed is wounded.
4. It is good to prevent a cold, extravasated blood by avoiding wind, cold air. And it should be maintain suitable temperature to prevent the sweat runs down.
5. It is good take a food digested well, well-nourished for supplying a physical stamina and nutrition.
6. It is good to start sexual intercourse after sexual organ¢¥s recovery and making a family planning referring to a couple¢¥s life condition, age, stamina.
